Skystream 3.7

Skystream 3.7A Skystream 3.7 small wind turbine has been installed at Dr. David Suzuki Public School. The Skystream can harness the wind, generating its own electricity that will help the school offset its electricity usage. It is the first compact, user-friendly, all-inclusive wind gernerator (with controls and inverter built in) deisgned to provide quiet, clean electricity in very low winds.

Wind Turbine Schematic

WindmillThe Skystream works in tandem with the electrical utility to power the school. When its windy outside, the Skystream pivots to catch the best wind and provides clean, quiet electricity. When it generates more electricity than is required, the electrical meter can actually spin backwards - which means the school is selling electricity back to the utility.

The Skystream 3.7 is 42 feet (12.8 meters) high and, with average monthly wind speeds of 20 km/h, the wind turbine is expected to produce approximately 400 kwh of energy each month.
